Our Team

Jeremi, from Valley, Nebraska, joined Central City Veterinary Clinic in the spring of 2018. He graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 and also received a Bachelor’s of Science in Animal Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2008).  Prior to coming to Central City, Dr. Wurtz worked 6 years in southeast Iowa in a mixed animal clinic focusing on cattle, small ruminants, and small animals.  Jeremi enjoys being outdoors hunting, working with his own show cattle, and spending time with his wife, Lara, son, Moxon, and their Chesapeake Bay Retriever named Draxxi.

Dr. Breanna Brown became an associate veterinarian with Central City Vet Clinic after graduating from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020.  She also holds a dual bachelor’s degree in Equine Science and Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from Otterbein University (2016).  Breanna grew up in West Virginia on a sheep farm and is passionate about small ruminants.  She would like to continue to grow the equine practice and loves seeing small mammals and exotics as well.  When not at the clinic Breanna enjoys outdoor activities like horseback riding, kayaking, gardening and collecting houseplants.  Breanna likes to spend time with her fiancé, Nick, their two dogs Huck and Turbo, and her cat, Waylon.

Katie came to Central City Vet Clinic in 2013. She graduated from Northeast Community College in 2012 as a licensed veterinary technician and worked at Parkston Veterinary Hospital in South Dakota before making the move to Central City. She enjoys the variety and pace of mixed practice, particularly when working with cattle or equine patients. Growing up on a farm near Avon, South Dakota, Katie enjoyed training and riding her horses – Star and Socks. Katie continues to ride and barrel race in her free time.

Michquel worked in many different industries before joining the Central City Vet Clinic Team in 2015. Since then, she has become the face of the clinic. Originally from Superior, Michquel is a Nebraska native and has lived in Central City since 2011. She lives with her husband, dog Emmy and two cats: Sadie and Bear. They are proud of their son Colt, who is a Marine. When not manning the front desk of the clinic, Michquel can be found enjoying a good book, on a motorcycle, or traveling.

Joyce Hansen joins us from Marquette, NE, where she and her husband own and operate an organic farm.  They are blessed to have two beautiful teenage daughters, Laura and Jasmine.  Joyce has a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and has spent many years as a professional cake decorator and freelance artist.  Though Joyce has many interests and hobbies, one of her constant true loves in life is animals. She absolutely “loves” to spend time with her horses, dogs, cats, and any animal that visits the clinic. Your pet is in good and loving hands around Joyce.
